I ran $300.00 through a sampling of penny machines in less than 15 minutes at $2.50 a spin. The machines were VERY tight as one might expect for a new venue. They did have a wide variety of the newest slots in the penny denominations but their selection of anything other than penny slots is very limited. There is a very limited amount of machines and I can see them running out of chairs on a busy night.
There is not an 'open, airy' feel at all about the place. The venue is laid out with a very limited amount of floor space. Of the three new venues, in this reviewer's opinion, Hollywood Dayton lags behind the pack. The 'slots' are technically 'Video Lottery Terminals' and are monitored by the Ohio State Lottery Commission. This venue, like the other racinos in Ohio, does not allow table gaming, or video poker.
This being the Third Installment of the 'Racino genre' following Miami Valley Gaming and Belterra Park. There has been an abundance of Racinos that have been built in this part of Ohio the last year. I Was drawn here to investigate Penn National Gaming's newest venue in the Southwestern Ohio region.
